Re: Selenium Health Claim Petition

American
Longevity is pleased to announce the filing of a health
claim petition with the Food and Drug Administration
(FDA) asking the agency to permit use of two health
claims on labels and in labeling of dietary supplements
containing selenium :
Selenium
may reduce the risk of certain cancers.
Selenium
may produce anticarcinogenic effects in the body.
A
copy of the press release for the filing is attached.
American
Longevity shall post on its website [www.americanlongevity.net],
on the News webpage, copies of the petition and the
accompanying scientific report of Philip D. Whanger,
Ph.D., Professor Emeritus at Oregon State Univeristy,
a biochemist and nutritionist. Distributors may direct
interested parties to those documents.
Distributors
must not use the health claims on labels or in the promotion
or sale of any American Longevity products until American
Longevity announces that they have been approved for
that use. Distributors must not discuss the pending
health claim petitions in connection with the promotion
or the sale of American Longevity products.
Any
failure to adhere to those restrictions may jeopardize
the pending petition and shall be considered a violation
of the distributor?s contract with American Longevity.
